Asalam Mu'aleikum Warahamatullah wabaruqatuhu auzubillah minashaitan ni rajeem Bismillah Hir Rahman Nir Rahim May Allāh (swa) grant us contentment. Ameen. When about 95% of adults reflect on their life, they see a life of wasted past, craving for a second chance to go back into the past, into being a child again, to right mistakes and reverse the time wasting; beautiful wish. They soak themselves in comforting lamentations. He/she wish to do things differently; self-motivational. The little child looks at an adult and see beautiful things that ain't there; they wish to be in the future, to being an adult. They see freedom, independence, riches, and complete problem-free lifestyle. They begin emulating adults, putting on artificial beards and doing things that seek to suggest their desire for adulthood. On the contrary however, I must tell you. If both of them get their wishes granted by Allāh (swa), they will wish to be restored back to their original state. The truth remains, they will never do anything differently. Such is human nature. It is the magnitude of the temptation staring at you at that particular moment and the God within you as a result of the manner in which you were brought up in the first place, coupled with the societal influence in general that determines how you would actually react to the temptation. Be content with the present and pray for better future. There is no second chance. Give it to yourself by beginning to do things differently by first and foremost seeking Allāh's mercy and forgiveness. Teach that to your children. Help them live your second chance, and you would actually have lived that second chance. Goodnight... By: Shaibu Abdul-Rafique
